Star Wars Celebration 2020 cancelled

While I knew this was coming, it's no less disappointing. I guess I'm waiting until 2022 to attend this event. Too bad, I was really looking forward to it. Here's the official news from starwars.com.

At Star Wars Celebration, the health and safety of our fans, attendees, exhibitors, guests and staff is always our number one priority. Due to the global impact of the COVID-19 virus and in speaking with local and state authorities on the latest public health guidelines related to indoor conventions, we have made the decision to cancel Star Wars Celebration for 2020. While this news is disappointing, we are happy to announce that Star Wars Celebration will return to the Anaheim Convention Center on August 18-21, 2022.

Mississauga: 80s Toy Expo 2018 - April 15th 2018

Today was the latest addition of the Mississauga 80's  Toy Expo held at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowval. Unfortunately the bad snow storm kept a lot of people away  as driving conditions on the 401 were pretty horrendous. That said the people that did brave the inclement weather had a great time.  Some fantastic items for sale today at the dealer tables. I managed to pick up a vintage set of James Bond "The World is Not Enough" lobby cards as well as a vintage 1970 Star Wars "Hammerhead" action figure.
Just as the dealer room opened in the morning at 10 AM . Many guests still on their way to the convention.

Getting ready to start the day. A lot of great product to choose from both new and vintage figures.

Fantastic collection of vintage 1970s Star Wars figures and vehicles. The prices on original Star Wars collectable has increased dramatically over the last couple of years. Especially the items still in there original boxes. Money was a bit tight this weekend so I'd inquire about any of the higher end stuff.

They were asking $900.00 for the Death Star Space Station play set.

Intellevision was one of the very early home video game consuls. Very uncommon to see software for these systems for sale.

Some of the Star Wars Black Series convention exclusives can command a pretty hefty price.

Return of the Jedi Lunch Box - Asking price $100.00

The ROTJ lunch box was in pretty decent condition although there did seem to be a bit of rust along the edges.

Vintage MEGO action figure. Very hard to find these mint on card.

501st are always in attendance at these events and are a very popular draw.

Toronto Comic Con 2018

Better late than never... Here are some of the pictures I took at this years Toronto Comic Con 2018. Much like last year the guest list was pathetic, Wizard World seriously needs to come back to town to provide some competition, but I had a great time just the same.

Some really great hard to find collectables were available at this years comic con.

Great bargain books at basement prices.

If your into collecting statue, Gotham Central had a huge selection to choose from.

Alot of great dealers this year with a huge selevtion of product.

Cosplay is always one of the main attractions of Toronto Comic Con. This year was no exception.

Some of the panels dis attract large crowds, unfortunately list yaers guest list leaved a lot to be desired.

Finnish-born actor Joonas Suotamo will step into the role of Chewbacca in the upcoming Han Solo stand-alone film. Here he does a panel at this years Toronto Comic Con. He did a great job considering he has very little experience at conventions.

The dealer room had something for everyone, that much it certain.

One thing to be careful of at TCC is pricing. While there are deals to be found, there is also a lot of over pricing as well.
Always a great selection of new book and graphic novels.

Always a good idea to buy a multi day pass for TCC as it would be nearly impossible to go through all the books a available for sale  in just one day. There's literally hundreds of thousands to choose from.

As usual the 501st was there in full force. They always draw a large crowd and raise a lot of money for charity.

The shore-trooper is one of my favorite new armor designs for the Star Wars franchise.

Peggy Cummins, Legendary Femme Fatale of 'Gun Crazy,' Dies at 92

Peggy Cummins and John Dall pull off a robbery in a scene from 'Gun Crazy.'

She starred in the film noir classic after being brought to the U.S. for the lead in 'Forever Amber,' only to be replaced.

Peggy Cummins, the petite blond actress who played the carnival sharpshooter turned murderous bank robber in the sexually charged 1950 film noir classic Gun Crazy, has died. She was 92. Cummins suffered a stroke and died Friday in a London hospital surrounded by her family, her longtime friend Dee Kirkwood, a fellow trustee of Stars Foundation for Cerebral Palsy, told The Hollywood Reporter.

Toronto Fan Days Holiday Show

Toronto's largest 1 day convention was held to today at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.  I always look forward to this show, some fantastic dealers and some great cosplay. Here are a few pics I took this afternoon.
